AI Diagnostic Framework

Most agencies think they are ahead with AI. In reality, when I benchmark them, 90% are stuck at level two without even realizing it.

This creates:

  • experimentation without adoption

  • technical bottlenecks

  • misaligned teams

  • zero clarity on ROI

It doesn’t matter how many tools you subscribe to. If you are blaming the software for your lack of progress, your mindset is wrong. In this video, I reveal the four pillars of AI maturity and a diagnostic test to find your true level.

An agency needs to balance:

  • people

  • platform

  • process

  • product

Ignore the weakest pillar, and your entire AI strategy becomes a bottleneck. This is the heart of AI Foundations: Measuring Maturity in Agencies.

The Friction Point: The Platform Obsession

Most agencies focus entirely on the platform pillar. They constantly hunt for the newest automation or the latest model. But platform is usually the most mature area. The real friction occurs because the people and process pillars are left behind. You might have level four tools, but if your team has level two literacy, you are effectively operating at level two.

The Foundation Shift: Identifying the Bottleneck

To fix this, you must stop looking at tools and start looking at the gaps. Think of your agency like a chain. If your peopleare afraid AI will take their jobs, they won’t use the systems you build. If your product value is decreasing because you’ve automated away the human “feeling” in your creative work, your efficiency doesn’t matter.

When you identify the single pillar holding you back, you gain the quickest path to improved performance. You move from “playing” with AI to “scaling” with it.

The Moral of the Story for Agency Owners

Don’t assume more tools equals more maturity. Don’t ignore the human sentiment behind AI adoption. Don’t automate the “soul” out of your creative product.

If you want AI to unlock real performance, you must first be honest about where you are starting. This is the real work of AI Foundations: Systems and People in Agencies.
